my mom was right when she said the third one is your anchor, meaning they keep you close to home. i definitely hesitate before leaving the house now. i am in a good mind space to be anchored though, i am actually really liking it, something about it seems to take off the pressure of getting the kids out of the house. surprisingly, the boys don't seem bothered by keeping it close to home. walks to the milk bar with the neighborhood kids, random jumps on backyard trampolines, and brief visits to the park seem to be enough. i recently got them to come up with their top five things they wanted to do this summer. five things seem fair and doable, no?
five things by quinn and tate
1. surfing
2. bowling on a rainy day
3. wind in the willows at the botanical gardens
4. bike park
5. strawberry farm
The photos are beautiful. And I love the list!
ReplyDelete5 is a good number and definitely within reach.
Sounds like a very pleasant summer you have on the cards x
Love the picture of Scout in your lap. I just want to reach out there and squeeze that little leg!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very true, I didn't expect it when our little guy was born but leaving the house with 3 became so frightening! Once I allowed myself to let go of feeling the need to get out and do 'normal' things it became so much easier. My boys love home, and were quite happy to just be. Keep things simple for as long as you can and enjoy this beautiful time..x
ReplyDeleteI love that list... such a great idea! These photos turned out stunning in black & white x
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear your mind is liking the idea of slowing down! I find the kids like being here as well, staying home, playing and just being... and so do I - sometimes I really need to be home with them, just the three of us (four when Mr is at home) and just be, no plans and expectations, hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Sounds like the perfect summer! And that last picture is sweet beyond belief Xx
ReplyDelete4/5 of the things outside - so lovely. I also love the last photo. I bet Scout slept like that when he was in the womb xx
ReplyDeleteThat Scout photo is breathtaking- what a beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted three. Need to get the second out first but look forward to an anchor too.
Xx ashley
How lovely to see your last few posts and to see such beautiful photos of your family and of course wee Scout - he is just lovely Kristi. You did well to venture to the beach and your list of 5 things is a great way to spend the summer! Simple and close to home. Perfect! Ally x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - so redolent of Summer -and I love the list idea. I remember seeing The Wind in the Willow in the Botanical gardens as a kid and it was great. We're still in debate about kid number 3 (leaning more towards yes, but in a few years) so it's great to hear about what it's like.
ReplyDeleteLook at that gorgeous Scout snuggled in your lap. We are home bodies even without a new babe! Geoff is more an out and about person, so we juggle to get the balance right at times, but the girls and I would pick hanging out at home together any day.
ReplyDeleteI always felt that the transition from 2 to 3 was the easiest for us. 2 to 3 was challenging. It's nice to see that Scout is fitting perfectly right in. Before we all know it he'll be running around with his brothers. Absorb every moment. It just gets faster and faster...
ReplyDeleteSuch blissful new baby snuggleyness! I completely agree on number 3 bringing you home, I found that myself. Home really is such a lovely place to be.
ReplyDeleteHow the boys do love their time at the beach, such fun playing in the water and sand.
ReplyDeleteLove that Scout just happily curled up in your lap sleeping away to the beach sounds.
Love ya, Mom
How wonderful and they've already ticked one off! xo
